Light
You, LORD, are my lamp; the LORD turns my
darkness into light.(2 Samuel 22:29)
2 Timothy 3:2-17
People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, and conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God having a form of godliness but denying its power.
In 1999, I told my family and friends that, “I am born again.”
“I am saved, I know the law, and I am a Christian.”
One day a Christian friend told me to be careful and to be accountable for what I do and say. She also told me that I would be tempted to sin more often, since I am now searching. She told me what happened to her when she was searching. I told her that I know the Bible and it will not happen to me. I told her she must be jealous and maybe she needed to reread her Bible. She gave me a smile and told me that she will pray for me and I have not seen her since.
Luke 14:12-34
Then Jesus said to his host, "When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite those so you will be repaid. But invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous." "If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even life itself—such a person cannot be my disciple. And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. Jesus said: "Suppose one of you wants to build a tower won't you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, saying this person began to build and wasn't able to finish.' "Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. King first sits down and considers whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace. Those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples."Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out. "Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear."
I recall organizing a luncheon just so I could gossip about a person who hurt me very much. I told them my side of the story and asked, “How could she do all that to me after all I did for her?”
Matthew 18:15-20
"If your brother sins against you go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.” I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
Soon my meal came, so I stopped and I prayed before touching my plate. One of the Christian girls at the table asked me if I was a believer of Jesus Christ.
Titus 3:1
Remind the people to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone
I gave her the look and told her that my father was an elder of our own church and I started to explain what a good Christian I was. I told her that I read the Bible, meditated, prayed to Jesus, attended church, I am a member of Bible study group and I give money to the church. I laughed at her and we all moved on with our meal.
Matthew 7:21-23
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only those who do the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'
James 5:19
My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring them back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the way of error will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.
Six years ago, I was having problems living in peace. I prayed and I felt that the Lord was not listening to my prayer. A Christian sister gave me her one-year Bible to read and she prayed for my problems and me. Through the Bible, Jesus was remolding me and answering my prayer. This is my 6th year reading the entire bible in one year and every year I receive different messages and I see the light.
John 15:17
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit. The Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other.
I have shared with others how important it is that we never stop reading the Bible – read it until He calls us home.
God Bless,
